Please describe yourself and your areas of interest.

Alan’s work is focused on three interlocking themes; beauty, craft and design, and how we can bring more beauty into our world by how we live and what we make. He is the author of three books on creativity, and business transformation including, Do Design: Why Beauty is Key to Everything. Working directly with companies and organisations, Alan mentors, individuals or teams, as well as delivering inspirational leadership programmes, and advising on how their business can become more beautiful. Working on six continents, Alan has shared his knowledge in the form of board and advisory positions as well as teaching in institutions as wide-ranging as MIT, Sloan School of Management and INSEAD. He has also taught typography at Reading University, and shared his design philosophy at Central St. Martins and Goldsmiths in London.

Why did you become a Companion of the Guild?

I would like to belong to a community that is diverse, international who share common values. To have the opportunity to connect to a learning environment in which I can develop my work and thinking.
