John Arnison
How would you define yourself?
Lecturer, photographer

Please describe yourself and your areas of interest.
Professionally I am a photographer, I have work in the V & A, the National Portrait Gallery, The National Mining museum, British Film institute , the Henry Moore institute, and I am the founder of Airestreet Darkroom in Leeds. I have run workshops for various charities and at the darkroom I set up, along with seven of my students, from Leeds College of Art. I am the founder of the Enfield and District Dyslexia Association. I have always had an interest in community, I like being part of a community and building communities.
Why did you become a Companion of the Guild?
The Guild interests me; I enjoy the arts and crafts movement, the Pre-Raphaelites and the ideas and philosophy of John Ruskin. So it seemed a natural progression to apply for membership.
