Creative Producer, Community Practitioner

Ruth Nutter

Please describe yourself and your areas of interest.

I am an experienced freelance Creative Producer and Community Practitioner who has worked to increase connection and wellbeing in local communities in Sheffield, London, Dewsbury and Birmingham. Using participatory techniques, I engage communities with their own creativity, their local nature, heritage and each other. I'm particularly interested in building people's enjoyment of where they live and their agency to help shape their local future. I was Producer of the Guild's Ruskin in Sheffield programme of creative community-led events 2014 - 2019 and am the author of Paradise is Here: Building Community Around Things That Matter, publish by the Guild.

Why did you become a Companion of the Guild?

To continue to make fruitful connections and collaborations with other Guild Companions who want to help make lives better where we can make strong social impact.
